Although I posted a number of photos from our trip into the Negev desert a few weeks ago, here are a few more which were sent to us recently by South African friend of ours from the Kibbutz.
Otherwise it’s Christmas Day in the Holy Land and despite the fact that Jesus was supposedly born just down the road from us in Bethlehem there is no real feeling of Christmas to be found anywhere. 3 Christmas trees and a tour guide with a silly Santa hat is about as much Christmas that I’ve been be able to see on the on the streets of Jerusalem thus far.
We eventually sought out our own little piece of Christmas spirit as when attended Midnight Mass at our local St. Andrew’s church. A pleasant step back into British life – though half the congregation were Israeli and not sure how to sing-a-long to the old classic Christmas hymns.
Anyway hope you’re all having a good Christmas wherever you may be.
